Refund Policy

Effective Date: 31 August 2026

This Refund Policy applies to digital products purchased from The Unapologetic Parent.

The Unapologetic Parent is an Australian business based in New South Wales, providing practical educational and advocacy resources for parents navigating school systems. Our resources are created in Australia and may be purchased and used by parents in Australia and internationally.

1. DIGITAL PRODUCTS

Unless otherwise stated, products purchased from The Unapologetic Parent are digital products supplied electronically.

Because digital products can be accessed, downloaded and retained after purchase, we do not provide refunds simply for change of mind once a product has been supplied or made available for download.

This includes where you:

-change your mind after purchasing;

-decide you no longer need or want the resource;

-purchase the wrong resource;

-do not use or download the resource after it has been made available;

-find that some of the information is already familiar to you; or

-expected information, services or outcomes that were not included or promised in the product description.

Please review the product description before purchasing to make sure the resource is suitable for what you are looking for.

This change-of-mind policy does not affect any rights you may have under applicable consumer law.

2. PROBLEMS ACCESSING YOUR DOWNLOADS

If you have purchased a resource but experience a technical problem accessing or downloading it, please contact us.

We will make reasonable efforts to resolve the issue and provide access to the product you purchased.

Where an access or delivery issue can reasonably be corrected, we may first attempt to correct the problem or provide the purchased file again.

3. FAULTY, INCORRECT OR MISDESCRIBED PRODUCTS

If you:

-receive the wrong digital product;

-receive a file that is defective or unusable;

-cannot access the product due to a problem that cannot reasonably be corrected; or

-believe the product is materially different from the description provided at the time of purchase,

-please contact us with your order details and a brief explanation of the problem.

Depending on the circumstances and your rights under applicable consumer law, an appropriate remedy may include restoring access, replacing the file, supplying the correct product, providing a refund, or another remedy required by law.

4. AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW

Where the Australian Consumer Law applies, our products come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded.

Nothing in this Refund Policy is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Our policy of not providing refunds for change of mind does not override any right to a remedy that you may have under Australian Consumer Law.

5. CREATED IN AUSTRALIA. ADAPTABLE WORLDWIDE

The Unapologetic Parent is based in Australia, but many of the practical strategies within our resources are designed to be useful and adaptable for parents wherever they live.

Communication scripts, meeting questions, documentation strategies, preparation tools, approaches to difficult conversations and outcome-focused advocacy can often be adapted across different schools and education systems.

However, laws, policies and formal processes vary by jurisdiction.

Where a resource discusses Australian legislation, government departments, disability protections, education policies, complaint bodies, tribunals or other formal pathways, that information may not apply in the same way in another country - or even in another Australian state or territory.

International purchasers can still use and adapt the broader advocacy strategies and practical tools, but should check any legal, regulatory or formal procedural information against the requirements that apply in their own jurisdiction.

6. INTERNATIONAL PURCHASES AND GOVERNING LAW

Our digital products are available for purchase by customers outside Australia.

To the extent permitted by law, purchases made through this website, this Refund Policy and our Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, together with applicable Commonwealth laws of Australia.

However, consumer protection laws in some countries or jurisdictions may provide mandatory rights or remedies that cannot be excluded by contract.

Nothing in this Refund Policy is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the laws applicable to a particular purchase.

Being located outside Australia does not, by itself, make a digital product faulty or misdescribed where its Australian context and any relevant jurisdiction-specific limitations were clearly identified before purchase.

7. GENERAL EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY INFORMATION

The resources provided by The Unapologetic Parent are for general educational and informational purposes.

They are designed to provide practical advocacy strategies, communication tools, scripts, questions, templates and information that parents can consider and adapt to their own circumstances.

They are not legal advice and should not be relied upon as a substitute for legal advice or other appropriately qualified professional advice about an individual situation.

Where a resource discusses legislation, legal rights, government processes or formal complaint and escalation pathways, you should check current requirements in your jurisdiction and seek professional advice where appropriate.

Laws, policies, procedures and government processes can change over time.

8. NO GUARANTEE OUTCOME

Every child, school, education system and situation is different.

Purchasing or using a resource from The Unapologetic Parent does not guarantee that a school, education authority, government agency, commission, tribunal or other organisation will agree with a request or produce a particular outcome.

Our scripts, templates and strategies are tools designed to help parents communicate clearly, ask informed questions and advocate more effectively. They cannot guarantee the actions or decisions of another person or organisation.

A particular outcome not being achieved does not, by itself, mean that a digital product is faulty or entitle a purchaser to a refund, subject always to any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer law.
